Amazing Paper Cups

Kia ora, In Te Ngahere we did another task master. This task master was a paper cup challenge, we had to make a paper cup using one piece of A4 paper, scissors and a glue stick. For this task master we didn’t get to pick our groups, so we learnt how to work with people we don’t normally work with. My group was Ngauira and Samuel. I found really hard to work with someone in my group because all they wanted to do was do their own thing. I also found it hard to make the paper cup because we had to try and stick the bottom of the cup to the top. I found it really easy to draw the design because all you had to do was draw. Next time I do this I will know to do the glue first so the glue has time to dry.

Shadows of Amazingness

Kia ora, Last week in Te Ngahere we did a task master. Our taskmaster was called Shadows of Amazingness. We had to get into groups of as many as we wanted and create a shadow and we were only allowed 1 item per person. We were learning about creativity and critical thinking. We had 20 minutes to create a shadow. My group and I made a bike. I found it really hard to agree on a shadow because everyone had different ideas, I think we spent at least 15 minute arguing over what shadow to make. I found it easy to figure out what resources to use. While we did this task master everything was very stressful. Next time we do this I would ask everyone what shadow they think we should do and try all of them and agree on the best one.

Future Footprint

Kia Ora, In Te Ngahere we have been learning about future footprints. We had to imagine what we would find if we were to google ourselves in 10 or 20 years time. In 20 years time i’m going to be playing for the silver ferns netball team. Then I had to create a future profile for myself that, introduces me, what I do or what position I play and the name of my company or team. I found it quite hard to figure out what I wanted to do when i’m older because I haven’t given it much thought. After I found out what I wanted to be I found it really easy to find what team I would play for.

Amazing Movies

Last week in Te Ngahere we made movies for the film festival. Our films had to be based on New Zealand history my film was about the Dawn Raids, that started in 1974 and ended in 1979. First we had to find a film making group, my group was Ariana, Indie and Braeden. Then we had to agree on a topic. Next we had to write our story line, script and what shots we would be using. Then we could start filming. While we made the movies I learnt about the different types of shots like a long shot, medium shot, close up shot and the establishing shot. I found it really hard to remember my lines. I found it quite easy to film the shots once I understood them. Next time I do this I would try to hold the iPad more still.

Have you ever heard of the dawn raids?

Amazing Montage’s

Last week in Te Ngahere we had Jacob come back in and teach us about montage filming.. We watched a quick montage video about getting ready then got into groups of three or four and started coming up with our own montage. My group was Abigail and Marley, I learnt that a montage is a quick part in the movie where they combined hours of something into a 1 minute or 30 seconds. I found it hard to come up with a montage video idea because my group and I couldn’t agree on what to do. I found editing really easy because all we had to do was add music and check if it was good. Our montage was about Abigail getting ready and putting too much lipstick on then tripping over a stick. Next time I do this I would try to come up with an idea that everyone would like.

Have you ever made a montage before ?
