Kia Ora, In Te Ngahere we did another Summer Learning Journey Taster. For this taster we did a poetry slam. For this poetry slam we got to chose 2 poems and based them on summer I chose a acrostic and cinquain poem because I think there quite easy.
Kia ora, In Te Ngahere we had to unleash our inner artist. We unleashed our inner artist by using Giga Manga. I found using Giga Manga quite easy because if you used magic pen all you had to do is draw scribbles and the scribbles would turn into a part of the drawing next you had to colour it in and add your own designs if you wanted to. I learnt that you could draw random lines and it would become a part of your drawing. I also learned that if you press the space bar on your device it will tell you where you missed.

Kia Ora, In Te Ngahere we get to imagine we had 3 super powers for a day then also think about what they would be also why we choose them. I would choose freeze as a power because then I can freeze people and the timer for if we have a limit of time to finish something in school. Next I would choose telekinesis as another power because, then if I don’t want to get up to grab somthing I can just use my telekinesis power to grab it instead. My last power would be flying because then if I get bored of walking I can just fly instead also I just think its a cool power.
If you had 3 powers would you choose, what would you do with them and why?
Today in Te Ngahere we got to choose someone to make a profile for and write 5 facts about them on canva. I chose Millie Bobby Brown. Here are my 5 facts. She was 12 when she started acting, she’s deaf in one ear, she was born on the 19th of February 2004, her favourite animal is an orca and her favourite color is purple.
In Te Ngahere we have been creating a profile for lorde. Lordes real name is Ella Marija Lani Yelich-O’Connor. She she was born November 7, 1996. She was signed to Universal Music at the age of 13. Lorde’s first album, Pure Heroine, was released is September 2013 and published it at the age of 16.
In Te Ngahere we have been doing the Summer Learning Journey taster 4. For the Summer Learning Journey taster 4 we had to imagine that we were allowed to change our name and what we would change it to. If I could change my name I would change it to Kate. I don’t know why I would change it to Kate I just like the name. I found it really hard to pick a name because I couldn’t find one that suited me or one that I liked. I found it easier to ask my parents what names they think would suit me. If I do this again I would go up to my parents and ask them first.
What do you wish your name was?
In Te Ngahere we had to create a book cover for our favourite book. We had to write what type of book it was and the series the book if there was one also the authurs name. The book I chose was wings of fire, the flames of hope by Tui T. Sutherland. Once we had finished creating our book cover we had to color it. I found it hard to think of some ideas for my book cover but I found it easy to draw my idea once I had thought of one.
Have you ever created your own book cover?
I loved the dance it was amazing to watch. The Dancers were so coordinated and worked amazingly well together. I liked how their costumes were the same color and blended together great. I really liked the music because it wasn’t just one song it was a lot of songs in one. I really enjoyed the action at the end because they got into an arrow position and put there fingers above their heads. I don’t think they could improve anything because they did a great job.
In Te Ngahere we did a commonwealth games day. The teachers put the hole school in different countries. my country was England. England had to make the England flag and crowns. We started the commonwealth games with a moment of silence to pay our respects to the Queen. Then each country went around the court to show everyone there costumes. Once everyone showed off there coustumes miss williams told everyone which activity they would go to first. I learnt that spud is another name for potato. I found it really hard to play spike ball because I keeped hitting the rim. I found it easy to do hurdles because all we had to do was jump over the hurdles. I think my favourite game was and ping pong because it was easy and challenging. Next time I do this I will try to encourage the little kid’s a bit more.
Have you ever done a commonwealth games day at school.
In Te Naghere we have been learning about marine ecosystems. First we had to read a text called Healthy ecosystem so that we could have an idea on what to put in our ecosystems. After we had read the text we had to draw our interpretation of a healthy ecosystem, I learnt that an healthy ecosystem has, produsers, consumers and decomposers, botic and abotic factors. I also learnt that rocks are biotic factors. I found it hard to find out what decomposers were because you had to be very specific when you searched up what a decomposer was.
